2012 Slalom @ Slemon: August 3-5

MMSC is holding the annual Slalom @ Slemon on August 3 through 5. Friday, August 3rd is the test & tune. Saturday is the first slalom event followed by a dinner in the evening. Sunday is the second slalom event followed by an awards ceremony shortly after. Registration is currently open! Early registration runs until July 6th. Before then, the entry fee is only $90 CAD. The entry fee increases to $110 CAD afterwards. You can register and pay online at the MMSC website (link here). You can also print off an entry form and submit it and your payment in person or via snail mail at:

April Club Meeting ***DATE CHANGED***

The spring Autoslalom series is just around the corner and the club is busy getting ready for the 2012 competition year. Also, after having a very successful first year, the driving club is appears to have an even better year in 2012. Lots of great things coming out of MMSC, so come out and see what the club has in store for 2012!

March Club Meeting

The club held it’s first event of the year. Thanks to Mike for making time to build the course and everyone else for helping out. It was a fun event, maybe a few people had too much fun. The AMP AGM is coming up in March. We will likely discuss whether to hold another winter event if the snow holds up. Looks like another busy year for MMSC, so come out and see what the club has in store for 2012!

Club Rallycross: February 12th, 2012

Winter has arrived so we can play in the snow! MMSC will be holding a Rallycross event on Sunday, February 12th at the Magic Mountain parking lot. Pre-register here. Details below:

* “Normal” #13 or #15 studded snow tires are allowed in all classes. No other types of studded tires are allowed with approval by the organizer.

** including (a) Rally and Race prepared vehicles, (b) vehicles with other than OEM (as the vehicle in question came from the factory) drive train (engine, transmission, rear ends, etc…) and or suspension modifications, (c) vehicles that have had parts removed that cause a weight reduction (seats, carpets, headliners, air conditioning, ABS, etc…)

It’s been a mild winter and we’ve postponed the first event of the year for better weather. Despite the set back, MMSC and the MHPDC have a full schedule for 2012 so it should be an exciting year for the club. Come out and see what the club has planned for the upcoming competition year along with the usual updates on what is going on around the region.

Club Rallycross: January 29th, 2012 **POSTPONED**

Update: Due to weather concerns, we will be postponing this event. I will post an update once we have an alternate date.

The club is working to finalize the 2012 club schedule. Also have a couple of rallycross events coming up (one in January and February so keep checking back for an announcement shortly after the club meeting). 2012 is starting to look like another great year for MMSC. Come out and see what the club is working on for the upcoming competition year!

Annual Christmas and Awards Banquet: December 9th, 2011

It’s been a great year for MMSC and time to celebrate! MMSC is growing (almost 100 members)! We’ve held more events this year than years previous (2 rallycrosses, 16 autoslaloms, 12 driving club events) and all excellent and quality events. Thanks to everyone for coming out to the events and helping make this an amazing year! Looking forward to an even better 2012!

MMSC’s annual Christmas and Awards Banquet will be held at Fisherman’s Paradise, 330 Dieppe Boulevard in Dieppe on Friday, December 9th. Cocktails will start at 6:30pm, order from the menu around 7:00pm, followed by the awards presentation and the club’s famous Yankee Swap with the club’s own Santa. Stay tuned for more details.

The banquet is lots of fun so make sure you come out for this one! If you plan on attending, please let us know so we know how many to expect. Please e-mail or phone Mike McCrea or myself.

ARMS Annual General Meeting (AGM): November 4-6

Atlantic Region Motor Sports (ARMS) is holding it’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia on November 4 to 6. There are workshops for all various aspects of the sport where they are discussed along with rule changes, schedules for regional events, and the organization of motor sports in the region. It is important that people come out and attend, especially the discipline workshops. Schedule for the weekend should be as follows:

Friday, Nov 4
• Meet and Greet social – 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm (with cash bar)

Saturday, Nov 5
• Admin Meeting – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Workshops – 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
• Cocktails 6:30 pm
• Banquet 7:00 pm

Sunday, Nov 6
• ARMS AGM 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
• Calendar Meeting 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
