February Club Meeting

The next club meeting will be Tuesday, February 12th. It will be held at the Southeast Mutual Insurance Company boardroom starting at 7pm. Address is:

The boardroom has a separate entrance which is located at the front of the building (towards Coverdale Road).

It’s only February and the competition season has already started.  MMSC held an awesome rallycross last weekend and if there’s enough snow, we’ll be holding another one on February 10th.  Stay tuned for more details.  Should be lots to discuss as the Rallycrosses should be done and the club gets ready for the Spring.  Come out and see what the club has in the works for 2013!

MMSC Club Rallycross: January 27, 2013

Assuming there’s still snow, MMSC will be holding a Rallycross event on Sunday, January 27th at the Magic Mountain parking lot.  Pre-registration form is here.  Let’s have some fun in the snow!  Details below:

Schedule:

8:00am-10:00am Course Setup
9:30am-10:30am Registration
10:45am Driver’s Meeting
11:00am First Car on Course
2:30pm End of Event & Clean-Up

Classes:

  • Prepared**
  • All Wheel / 4 Wheel Drive
  • Front Wheel Drive
  • Rear Wheel Drive

* “Normal” #13 or #15 studded snow tires are allowed in all classes. No other types of studded tires are allowed with approval by the organizer.

** including (a) Rally and Race prepared vehicles, (b) vehicles with other than OEM (as the vehicle in question came from the factory) drive train (engine, transmission, rear ends, etc…) and or suspension modifications, (c) vehicles that have had parts removed that cause a weight reduction (seats, carpets, headliners, air conditioning, ABS, etc…)

Annual Awards and Christmas Party: December 8th, 2012

It’s been another good year for MMSC and the driving club.  Even with all the wet slalom events, the club put up similar membership numbers.  2012 was even busier with a rallycross, 17 autoslaloms, and 21 driving club events!  Thanks to everyone for coming out to the events and helping make this an amazing year!  Time to celebrate another successful season!

MMSC’s annual Awards and Christmas Party will be held at Catch 22 (589 Main St, Moncton, NB) on Saturday, December 8th. Cocktails will start at 6:30pm, order from the menu around 7:00pm, followed by the awards presentation and the club’s famous Yankee Swap with the club’s own Santa. MMSC provides all the gifts, so just show up and enjoy the fun!  The party is lots of fun so make sure you come out for this one!  If you plan on attending, please let us know so we know how many to expect.  Contact information can be found here.

ARMS Awards Banquet: November 24, 2012

The ARMS AGM is being held at the Ramada/Crystal Palace Convention Center.  Saturday evening is the Awards banquet with cocktails at 6:30pm and dinner starting at 7:00pm  It will be a dinner buffet with the following menu:

  • Includes: vegetable, cheese and meat tray, seasonal vegetables, fresh fruit salad, rice pilaf, dinner rolls, assorted desserts, coffee, and tea.
  • Four (4) salads: caesar, pasta, garden, and potato.
  • Scalloped potatos
  • Chicken breast in a chasseur sauce.
  • Carved roast beef.

Price is $40.00/person (actual cost is $42.60/person with MMSC subsidizing the difference).

MMSC Annual General Meeting

The Moncton Motor Sport Club Inc will be holding its Annual General Meeting on November 6th, 2012.  The meeting will be held in the boardroom of South Eastern Mutual Insurance on 378 Coverdale Road, Riverview.  The meeting will be start at 7:00PM.  The quorum for the Annual General Meeting, as required in By-Law item 1.11, is “…not less than two members of the Executive plus twelve active members, present in person or by proxy.”  This is an important meeting for the club so please make every effort to attend this meeting or send a proxy.  Hope to see you there!
