Moncton Motor Sport Club

The first event was postponed. It has been rescheduled to February 16th. So, the first event is event #2! Going to take a look at the lot during the week to make sure the Magic Mountain parking lot is still suitable. If so, MMSC will be holding a Rallycross event on Sunday, February 9th. MMSC Rallycross #2: Sunday, February 9th, 2014

Location: Magic Mountain Parking Lot
Price: $20/entry

7:00am-9:00am Course Setup
8:30am-9:30am Registration
9:45am Driver’s Meeting

2:30pm End of Event & Clean-Up

All Wheel / 4 Wheel Drive
Front Wheel Drive
Rear Wheel Drive

* “Normal” #13 or #15 studded snow tires are allowed in all classes. No other types of studded tires are allowed with approval by the organizer.

** including (a) Rally and Race prepared vehicles, (b) vehicles with other than OEM (as the vehicle in question came from the factory) drive train (engine, transmission, rear ends, etc…) and or suspension modifications, (c) vehicles that have had parts removed that cause a weight reduction (seats, carpets, headliners, air conditioning, ABS, etc…)

The next club meeting is Tuesday, February 4th. It will be held at the Southeast Mutual Insurance Company boardroom starting at 7:30pm. Address is:

The first rallycross event was postponed, but the second date is coming up soon. Lots of things to discuss and get ready for the competition season starts. Come out and see what the club is planning for 2014!

Arnold Hoar, a founding member of MMSC, passed away Wednesday.  Visitation will be at Fair Haven Funeral Home Sunday January 26 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm.  A memorial service will be held on Monday January 27 at 2pm.  Donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to:

Another competition year is over for MMSC and the driving club. It’s been a great year for the club! Membership is at a record high. The number of events MMSC has hosted is up and so is attendance. Thanks to everyone for coming out and for another awesome year!

MMSC’s annual Awards and Christmas Party will be held at Catch 22 (589 Main St, Moncton, NB) on Friday, December 6th. Cocktails will start at 6:30pm, order from the menu around 7:00pm, followed by the awards presentation and the club’s famous Yankee Swap with the club’s own Santa. MMSC provides all the gifts, so just show up and enjoy the fun! The party is lots of fun so make sure you come out for this one! If you plan on attending, please let us know so we know how many to expect by giving Mike or Ming a shout.  Note: You don’t have to order a meal to attend.  Feel free to just come party with us!

The Annual General Meeting for Atlantic Region Motor Sports Inc will be held at The Westin Nova Scotian, Halifax, Nova Scotia.  There is a social gathering Friday evening.  Workshops will be held Saturday morning and afternoon followed by the awards banquet in the evening.  Sunday is the actual AGM.  The workshops are where everything happens in the region.  Rule changes, regulations, how the region works is determined at the workshops and the AGM.  These are important meetings so please attend if you can!  More information on the ARMS web site:

The quorum for the Annual General Meeting, as required in By-Law item 1.11, is “…not less than two members of the Executive plus twelve active members, present in person or by proxy.” This is an important meeting for the club so please make every effort to attend this meeting or send a proxy.
